The Internet age with social media spreading information fast and wide become the platform of what could be called the boom period of conspiracy theories. Yet what might actually be the truth is usually misleading. It is drowned underneath a hill of lies. So, before you fall down the rabbit hole, let's debunk a few myths: Indeed, Micheal Jackson, Elvis Presley and Tupac are deceased. Wayfair also does not have anything to do with human trafficking and the belief that lizard people run the world is baseless. Still, there are some conspiracy theories with the truth as an outcome, and they are the most mind-boggling of all.

Let's start with a classic: MKUltra: The CIA’s Secret Plan to Control Your MindWith LSD becoming mainstream in mid-20th century among the counterculture communities the CIA also endeavored to turn it into a weapon. Surely, this is not a misprint. Operating clandestinely, the CIA's MKUltra program involved LSD trials on vulnerable people such as heroin addicts and even recruited individuals from brothels using fake pretenses. Here, the experiments of again electric shock and hypnosis became a major tragedy in others’ lives. For as the project was uncovered in 1977, it added more to the already prevailing anti-government vibe of that decade.

However, this is not only the US Gov’t which holds a predilection for secret experiments, as well. In the 1960s the Canadian government helped to finance the development of a modern Gaydar. However, though it apparently was created to monitor pupil dilation from gay imagery, it was used in dismissing about 400 government employeees. This apparatus was commonly referred to as "The Fruit Machine" as it represented the discrimination that LGBTQ+ people experienced in the 60s.

Still, maybe the most terrifying thing about this story is that Bayer Pharmaceutical Company concealed the blood-clotting medicine, infected with HIV and gave it to the patients who were suffering from hemophilia around the early 1980s. This indifferent attitude on the part of the company led to the contamination of 20,000 humans which did in fact reveal the true cost of the corporate greed.

But this is not the only problem. The obstructive decision of the ExxonMobil fuel company in the field of climate change research that has been going on for decades has become a menace to millions of lives by postponing climate change action. The opposite that way the CIA's Operation Paperclip was operated as it involved the recruiting of Nazi scientists after the war which later on resulted in technological breakthroughs, a legacy full of war crimes memories.

The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment serves as a painful sign of unethical racial medicine research, meanwhile, clandestine methods of Project SUNSHINE lighten the moral problems of scientific research. Operation Seaspray, which involved the US Navy releasing bacteria into San Francisco Bay, and experiment of Operation Sober Popeye aimed at removing fog in the US for the Southeast Asia War proved the level of commitment of countries with evil actions.

The creation of the Heart attack gun by the CIA already gives you the idea that it can be used in cinematic end scenes. Lastly, COINTELPRO was a widespread program that encompassed this type of monitoring—from recording the conversations of activists, to wiretapping movie legends such as John Lennon and Aretha Franklin.

The case of Operation Mockingbird, a covert CIA operation to harness the media in influencing the public, was a stark reminder of the threats posed by propaganda and disinformation to informed and objective judgment. In a big other gand he CIA is responsible for the care of these large machines, the difference between truth and fiction the line becomes confusing.

We live in a world of reality that is often even more frightening than works of fiction, and the ultimate result are these kinds of conspiracy theories. These theories, as expressions of the depths of depravity humans are capable of and the power of deception, will forever echo in our minds. Yet, there are others who consider conspiracies no more than wild tales. Nevertheless, historically, it is evident the every conspiracy starts with seed of truth before it get confirmed. Hence, when somebody informs you of a tale that seems implausible, keep in your mind that the most unbelievable truth is probably much more interesting than we start to imagine.
