LIUX ANIMAL

In the fascinating world of innovation, ideas deemed brilliant in hindsight often seem outlandish at first, says Antonio Espinosa, the visionary CEO of Liux. This is how the intriguing story of the Liux Animal begins—a prototype that challenges traditional norms and redefines the automotive sector. The Animal is the embodiment of an innovative vision, conceived as a biobased vehicle, primarily constructed with natural materials like flax and natural resins. But how did this idea emerge, and more importantly, how did it become a reality?

The selection of flax as the primary material was not arbitrary, boldly asserts Liux's CEO, Antonio Espinosa. In an industry dominated by steel and plastics, choosing flax posed a significant challenge. But was it truly possible to build a car’s monocoque with a natural, lightweight, and sustainable material?

The selection of flax as the primary material was not arbitrary, boldly asserts Liux's CEO, Antonio Espinosa. In an industry dominated by steel and plastics, choosing flax posed a significant challenge. But was it truly possible to build a car’s monocoque with a natural, lightweight, and sustainable material?

In this ambitious project, the molds, traditionally made of steel, became fundamental elements of the concept. At Liux, they opted for 3D printing technology, allowing the creation of complex and detailed shapes without the limitations of traditional methods. This choice not only accelerated the production process but also facilitated experimentation with geometries and functionalities in an environmentally friendly manner.

Liux Exceeds Traditional Limits of Sustainability

Reflecting on the true meaning of sustainability, Antonio Espinosa emphasizes the importance of modularity. Does it make sense to weld a battery to the vehicle when continuously more advanced, sustainable, and efficient battery technologies are emerging? What happens if the battery is damaged or becomes obsolete? These crucial questions shaped the prototype. The answer was clear: removable batteries, facilitating upgrades, recycling, and a second life for these components. The modular removable batteries not only provide an operational advantage but also reflect the very essence of Liux's philosophy. “We must design products to avoid obsolescence and ensure their recyclability,” highlights Espinosa.

In a surprising period of just 9 months, the Liux team designed and built the prototype from scratch. Chassis, powertrain, modular battery pack, interior and exterior design, software… “Every detail, every curve of the Liux Animal not only reflects technology and innovation but also a deep passion for our work,” comments Antonio Espinosa. It was a 9-month development process, a life and engineering lesson. “Liux is proof of how, with passion (and a lot of effort), we can change things for the better,” he adds.

Thus, with the Liux Animal, not only has a prototype been created, but a platform for experimentation, a narrative of effort and resilience. We are witnessing an extraordinary story that describes the beginning of something truly exceptional in a world that needs more than just vehicles: it needs solutions that inspire, challenge, and lead the way towards a more sustainable future, concludes the CEO of Liux, Antonio Espinosa. This is just the beginning of our story, but it is also an open invitation for everyone to be part of it.

Additionally, Liux is committed to continuing to innovate, developing new technologies and materials that not only enhance efficiency and sustainability but also offer an unparalleled driving experience for users. This constant dedication to innovation ensures that Liux will continue to be a leader on the path to greener and more responsible mobility.
