It is a time frame in which the two brothers, though parallel in actions and their accomplishments for the cause of the Corvin family, have set a stage in which betrayal shall emerge between them, paving the way for the feelings that would in this content.

One of them is Laszlo Corvin, a knight who serves his nation and family. Unfortunately, he met his end when he died near Constantinople in 1482. The journey left people wondering whether or not he would have been a good candidate for the Hungarian throne. It brought reflection on the actions of Janos Corvin, who, upon his brother's death, chooses to usurp his brother's identity to escape Turkish captivity. He became influential in his father's political restoration of Jeno's Hungaria Nationalis party.

In the history of most nations, there is always one influential family, whether it is involved with politics or just by its actions and prosperity. One of these families that proves to be influential is the Corvin family, ruling Hungary from 1458 until the death of Mathias Corvin in 1490. During this time frame, Hungary has become one of the most prosperous nations in Europe. Because of Mathias Corvin and his revival of strength through Hungary, as well as the many political and economic changes made to make Hungary more influential in the world. However, despite how prosperous this nation has become, unraveling beneath the glory are the actions of the two brothers who served in their unique way towards the accomplishment of the family.

They say an unbreakable bond brings togetherness between brothers Dmitri and Alyosha, differing in both personalities but still sharing a deep bond of the spirit that Alyosha eventually comes to call the "echo" of each other influences their actions throughout the novel. The two brothers are so different that it would appear they have nothing in common with each other. In his youth, Dmitri's sensuality and fire often attracted Alyosha's admiration. Though Alyosha was not happy with Dmitri's acts of cleaning his father's boots with his tongue or breaking a peasant woman's plate, his brother's lively nature and love of life made it impossible for Alyosha to stay angry with him for long. Their mother remarks that Dmitri never was able to beat or scold Alyosha without feeling guilty afterward, indicating that he always held a special love for his youngest brother and an awareness of the corruption his behavior might bring into Alyosha's life. As the days count Alyosha feels a deep spiritual connection to his brother, which mostly contrasts the apparent dichotomy between his spirituality and Dmitri's sensual nature. The connection influences his actions throughout the story of conversations with his brothers. He demonstrates this awareness several times, such as when he defends Dmitri to Ivan. This 'echo of one in the other' between the two brothers is what Dmitri feels his guilt for tempting Alyosha to become an emissary to Katerina last, and what causes Alyosha to burst into tears in the Epilogue, a year after being severely disillusioned by the results of his efforts. The bond between brothers is a significant confessional theme throughout their lives and becomes a major factor in their relationships with others.

Meanwhile, Gulzar had procured his status as a prominent scholar. Most importantly, he had deciphered ancient documents about the first King of the Immortals and what he considered he is the true history of the world. 'This was as he learned that Galzar received the terrible news that would change everything forever. His parents had died of a strange and terrible illness, and the brothers were to return to the capital immediately.

During the early years of adulthood, the kingdom spreads threats. Vyred took this as his opportunity to prove his worth, and from an enthusiastic youth, he grew into a good leader of men in a short time. The people soon came to love Vyred, and the bandit threat no longer appeared so potent, for Vyred would meet the bandits in a few skirmishes and always have victory.

Long ago, Gulzar and Vyred were born to the rulers of a kingdom. It soon became apparent to everyone that the brothers were very different. Gulzar was always happy when he read and learned, while Vyred made it clear that he intended to become a great soldier. Their parents could not avoid comparing the two, and Galzar suffered from a lack of attention. Their parents and others could not appreciate the value of learning in times of peace.

As it turned out, the theft would lead Wyn to his eventual demise. Overcome with grief, guilt, and loneliness, he sought a way to end his pain. He believed that reclaiming Hora's lunar amulet, the object that once symbolized their bond, would be the only way that he could once again find peace in his soul. During an attempt to steal the amulet, wyn was discovered by Hora, who had set a trap for whoever seeking to reclaim the amulet he now used as bait. Hora had become bitter and vengeful, seeking to destroy those who had betrayed him in the past days. Wyn was struck down by his brother, dying in the place where they spent much of their childhood. It was where the final betrayal had taken place. Wyn had inadvertently left a clue concerning where the amulet was with his dying words. A message that the remorseful Hora would never decipher.

The impact of betrayal is often as damaging, if not more so, than the betrayal itself. Wyn and Hora, once the closest of brothers, became bitterly estranged as a result of Wyn's betrayal to steal Hora's silver. Wyn became a recluse, tortured by the memory of what he had done. The stolen silver belonged to Hora and Wyn's father, whom Hora had given it when he left the dark brotherhood, hoping it would lead Wyn away from a similar path. As a result of the theft, Hora's father refused to speak to Wyn, and so it remained until the day he died. Wyn explained that the real dagger to his heart was a friendship caused by his brother and the look in his parents' eyes. Hora's name is eternally tarnished by the betrayal, and today, the known Hora is a hero who turned his back on his sickly brother without reason. Wyn would never attempt to clear his name, the guilt was too much to bear.
