Part and parcel of life as a teacher (and any profession) is keeping schedules, and I can almost tear my hair out waiting for students to respond with their ability to attend lessons.

We often find that we've to bide our time in many situations. Whether it's waiting for life-changing health check results, waiting for exam results, or waiting for someone to respond to a request for change in schedule, we've got to exercise patience and wait for an outcome. We've also got to have faith that that outcome will be positive.

Perhaps the tortoise can teach a few lessons. It is steadfast and bides its time while waiting for the path he walks on to unfold in front of him.

Enjoy these haikus.

The steadfast tortoise

Shell packed with loving patience

Forges path ahead

The steady tortoise

Walks ahead, though path is long

One step at a time

Persistent tortoise

Keeps forging weather-torn path

With calmness and grace.

I need to learn a lot from the tortoise as I'm a very impatient person. Loved your poem!
