Scars...

Some things in life leave some pretty large scars.

Those things define who we are.

They shape us, mold us.

We cannot help what happens in life.

We can try to make good choices but at the end of the day we're just human and those decisions may end up badly; there is no way to tell.

So take your scars and use them.

You get to decide where your scars take you and what you're going to get out of them.

Your scars only define who you've been and not who you'll be.

Rise up!

Do not let your scars drag you down!

Rise up!

Do not let them give you an excuse to live a life of anger and self-pity!

Rise up!

Your scars are not an excuse; they are a beautiful story.

Rise up!

Your scars can help someone else tell a beautiful story with their scars.

Rise up!

Your scars need a voice.

Rise up, Kings and Queens!

About the Creator

Lindsey Altom

For me, writing runs in the blood. I've written songs, poems and short stories ever since I was a little girl. I mostly like to write about my life experiences mixed with a little fiction or just things that come off the top of my head!
