Everytime you leave
What is it we do;
That makes us move
Forward?
***
What is it that drives us through;
The pain;
The challenge?
***
What is it that gives meaning,
If not you,
O’ passion,
***
What shall we do without you?
***
When ideas stop flowing
And faces stop glowing
And times start changing-
***
For the trouble it brings
Of forging new stories
Comes Everytime
*. You leave.

*Last line's "You leave." is meant to be directly placed under "Everytime".

This had me thinking about the ending of Rent where they sing, "How time flies when the passion dies," only to realize it's "compassion", not "the passion". I've been singing it wrong all this time, lol. Either way it's ironic, for time doesn't fly when either compassion or passion die. It seems to drag on interminably.

Driving through the pain is a excellent expression
