In an interview, Iyabo Ojo was asked if she feels discouraged about the hate she receives when trying to freedom fight or speak out. She admits that now she does, and it's because of her relationship with Paul O, a relationship which she regrets publicizing now because of this reason. She said:

IYABO OJO: Now, yes, because I'm in a relationship. Priscilla, my daughter, is very strong. Festus, my son, is also very strong, but they don't attack Festus as much as they attack Priscilla. Most times when the attacks come, they try to come through my children to get to me. And she's always telling me mummy I'm fine, mummy I'm fine. And she's fine actually. Until recently, when she voiced out and I saw her writeup and I was shocked. But at the same time, in my corner, I feel like I hope I'm not putting my children under pressure.

Now that I have a relationship, unfortunately, Paul O is this quiet, easy going, loving, no stress zone kind of person. So I feel like I'm putting him under so much pressure. And I think that's why for so long--not even for so long, I never ever put my relationship out there. So for the first time, I've kinda regretted doing that. I wish I never spoke about our relationship. I wish our relationship remained private so I could continue. Because when I think of him, and he keeps saying "Iyabo, you know I'm not getting any younger and I worry for you. I love what you do, I understand who you are, I know I can't tell you not to do. But just remember I'm not getting younger." When he says that, that kind of makes me mellow. But I'm gonna still keep doing what I believe in, but probably not put it out there like I do.
