A Pink Poem

It sounds like fairies’ teacups clinking

Sitting on a dew-damp petal

With little flowercaps resting on their starlight hair

~

There’s a sunlight reaching through the leaves

It rests on their conversation

A birdlike melody yet deeper but still musical

~

All the world is a gumdrop

Each rabbit floof’s its own tail each morning

Every cloud tastes sweet at dawn and dusk

~

Imagine,

The shades of brilliance painting each cloud in sugar dust

Imagine the excitement for grape sunset rain

~

Magical

Something not totally known, yet

You still believe in magnificence

~

Find a way to love even the shivered shards that splinter in your heart

Come to dismantle the shames and stuck-on guilt glitter

As if you were forced into butterfly-hood when you just wanted to be a wolf

~

Yet you, little wolf

You have brilliant wings too, not just a whimpered howl

You, little wolf, you can fly between the berry clouds (i promise)

~

Pinky promise that you’ll be okay

The fairies are singing our praise (i promise)

All the world is just cotton candy gumdrops and it’s okay you’re gay

<3

This poem is a part of my Colour Poem Series, something I started a few years back and now am returning to it. Pink was requested by S.K. Wilson. This one is kind of special, it's a lot more personal; sort of like my acceptance of myself in a fuller way.

This series started because I wanted to try and explain how my synesthesia works. For so long I've tried to suppress it, ignore it, but I cannot. I breathe and hear and touch the word in colour. It's magnificient. To smell a taste, to touch a sound, to create new ways to look at things.

Anyhow, it's been quite a unique experience for me to try and convey to you, readers. Thank you for joining me on this journey.

This so very cute.. If only glitter can be so magical as it look. Love yourself for who you are, love the message. This remind of Jojo Siwa, she started of being rainbows and glitter now she want to be a wolf. She is embracing and accepting who she are.

  • Love the little wolf bit, so pretty and handsome too

  • A brilliant poem! And pink!
