Lakshmi: The Radiant One
Here’s a poetic tribute to Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of wealth, prosperity, and grace
In temples adorned with marigold, She sits upon a lotus throne, Her golden skin aglow with blessings, Lakshmi, the goddess we call our own.
Her eyes, like twin pools of moonlight, Reflect the dreams of countless hearts, Her laughter, a melody of abundance, Echoes through the celestial arts.
Lakshmi, the giver of fortune, Her anklets tinkle with hidden treasures, Her hands bestow wealth upon devotees, As they bow before her sacred measures.
In her presence, homes are adorned, With oil lamps and fragrant blooms, Her grace flows like a monsoon river, Filling hearts with hope that never dooms.
She dances through the marketplaces, Where merchants seek her favor, Her touch turns copper into gold, And poverty into life’s sweet savor.
Lakshmi, the beloved of Vishnu, Her consort, the cosmic preserver, Together they weave the fabric of existence, In a dance of creation and forever.
So let us chant her name with reverence, Invoke her blessings in every prayer, For Lakshmi is the light that guides us, Through life’s storms and joys we share.
Fun fact: In Chinese Buddhism, Lakshmi is referred to as either Gōngdétiān (功德天, “Meritorious god”) or Jíxiáng Tiānnǚ (吉祥天女, “Auspicious goddess”), symbolizing fortune and prosperity.
