Mr. Macaroni during his appearance on Wazobia Fm

During his appearance, Mr. Macaroni was asked "After the EndSars movement where you actively played a role we will never forget, we've seen that there's this laidback attitude, not only from you, but also the masses. What do you think? Is it because of what happened? The only place I see your activism now is on Twitter" to which he responded:

MR. MACARONI: You see, Nigeria is a very funny country. Nigerians are also very funny. I say this with all seriousness. I'm not so happy with how things have been. You keep talking and it seems like you're the troublesome person. The same Nigerians that you speak for turn against you, they start to fight you. And then you're asking yourself, I'm not looking for anything in this. I look at Nigeria and I don't think I want to get into the political space because it seems like the political space corrupts the very best of us. You'll see men of valor, men you've looked up to and respected, they go into politics and ruin their legacy. So I don't care for it.

Leaving our leaders aside, even we the people, what do we do. What do we do? Nigeria as a whole has been cursed with the survival mentality. The average Nigerian moves on. Look at fuel price now, the wahala wey everybody dey shout, everybody will just talk, one two days, we don move on. Nigerians take pride in telling you 'if you can survive in Nigeria, you can survive anywhere', it's not something to brag about. It's a curse. You're not supposed to be surviving. Nigerians love to survive, instead of succeeding. Why are you born into Nigeria and you want to survive, instead of being on a level playing ground that allows every Nigerian to succeed. But we want to survive.

Wetin I wan talk again? Sometimes I see people tagging me that I'm not saying anything, what will I say? We said it, but it looked as if we are the ones that didn't know what we were saying. Nigeria is our country, there's nothing we can do, and we'll still continue to do what we can do to sensitize the people and ask for better from the government.
